LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATION AREA ACTIVITIES, 1999-2007

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Sandamu LGEA was created in 1996 from the defunct Daura LGEA. Alhaji Sani Mamman Sandamu (Sarkin Fulani Dagacin Sandamu) is the Education Secretary that served in the LGEA from 1999-2007

The LGEA has a total number of fifty one Primary Schools and one Hundred and Eighty Four Classrooms accommodation and two Hundred and thirty Six Toilets Spread across the LGEA.

The LGEA have a total of 43,949 with 26320 male and 17,629 female

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS

1. SUBEB between the year 1999 to 2002 rehabilitated Twelve Primary School in the LGEA

2. In 2005 Local Government Council have also rehabilitated Eight Primary School in the area.

Also in 2005 World Bank have rehabilitated One Primary School.

 

CONSTRUCTIONS

1. SUBEB constructed one block of two classrooms and toilets in fourteen primary school in the LGEA.

2. Construction of one block of two classrooms office and toilets in fourteen Primary Schools.

3. Construction of one block of two classrooms office and store in four Primary Schools.

4. Provision of furniture, well and toilets in Ten Primary Schools in the LGEA.

This is in addition to the annual distribution of instructional Materials to LGEAs in the state by the state Universal Basic Education Board.

They provided land for construction in the following schools.

Gundu Primary School

Kawari Primary School

Ingawa Primary School

Similarly, communities] assisted in building of school under self-help project through the World Bank in LGEA and help improvising of classrooms accommodation, office, store, Furniture, Toilets and well.
